Rose

Dates:

Size:Length:45cm,Width:54cm

A deck of poker cards is placed under the dying rose. The withering of flowers is Pan Yuliang’s interpretation of life, while the cards used by the Gypsies for fortune-telling reveals an ideology of inconstant destiny. Blooming and dead flowers are often deliberately depicted in Pan Yuliang’s works, and the flower has obviously symbolic meaning in this painting.
