Brick Carving of Jade Hall and Gold Horse Ming Dynasty
The “jade hall”, or Yutang, refers to Yutang Hall in the Han Dynasty, whereas the “Gold Horse”, or Jinma, refers to Jinma Gate to Weiyang Palace. These two symbolize eminence. With swastika pattern serving as the background, the carving depicts a composed horse standing at leisure in front of a hall with trees nearby and creates the impression of a prosperous family.
