Collected in Mianxi, She county, Anhui province

This set of brick carving consists of 8 equal-sized oblong water-ground blue bricks, which are light grey and crisp. The bricks are carved with the design of pavilions, terraces and a hundred children. Vividly and lively, the many children are playing inside or outside the buildings with various gestures. The whole scene is well-spaced with suitable distance and its light and shade are harmonious. The multi-level deep relief carving is as exquisite as it can be. The design contains profound traditional culture. It is said that Emperor Wen of Zhou dynasty had a hundred children, which was regarded as a symbol of "happiness". Therefore, the hope for lots of descendants has become a beautiful wish of the Chinese nation.
