The box is made of bamboo and is covered with black lacquer. Its mouth is decorated with cloud and thunder pattern and its foot is decorated with design of plum blossoms, orchid, bamboo and chrysanthemum. On the top is a picture depicting the spring excursion of literati. On the outskirts of the mountain, with peach blossoms, running water around the causeway, and everything in bright color, the three men in red, yellow and ochre robes are conversing with each other. Two lads, with wrapped bundles in their arms, are playing. And there also two older attendants, one with a Guqin, the other with a musical instrument similar to Erhu. Beautiful scenery, music, scholars, plum blossoms, orchid, bamboo and chrysanthemum，the elegant lacquer color, fine bamboo weaving, all have shown a low-key and refined flavor of literati of this artifact.
