Gold-painted Famille-rose Plate with Haoran Hall Inscription

Transferred from Shanghai Museum in 1959

The plate has folded thin frim, a curved belly which tapers downwards and a splayed ring-foot. The design of the plate consists of five layers, with the motif of interlocking lotus patterns and medallion- “shou” character and bat patterns, indicating blessing and longevity. The auxiliary decoration includes the patterns of S-shaped cloud and the Eight Auspicious symbols. The exterior plate is decorated with cloud patterns, bat patterns and interlocking flower patterns. On the underside of the plate there is an inscription—“Haoran Hall”.
