The writing brush has a wooden stem, on which carved two lines from the poem “Back from an Excursion” by Lu You in the Southern Song dynasty and the inscription “The Year of Gengwu, Daoguang Reign”. The large brush is also called “grabbing brush”, and its production and design is different from that of the daily-used brushes. The brush is especially used for writing big characters since its stem is stumpy and be directly grasped with five fingers. Its hair bucket is swelling with a contracted waist and the hair is long and thick. On top of the stem carved several bow ring pattern.
