Chapter 53 of Saddharma-pundarika-sutra was transcribed by Li Sixian in the thirteen year of Kaihuang reign, Sui dynasty (594 AD). The sutra has a full length of 911cm and a height of 26cm. The paper used for writing is smooth and thin, with fine texture.   

This yellow paper tasted bitter because it was made from hemp and dyed with berberis juice in order to avoid insect damage, which is why it was often used to write scriptures.
