Ever since the advent of modern times, the Anhui people bravely engaged in the revolutionary causes against imperialism and feudalism. After the May Fourth Movement in 1919, with Marxism widely spread in Anhui, in the province were gradually established the local Party organizations, which were committed to promoting the revolutionary causes in Anhui through launching publicity campaigns of the revolutionary theory and organizing the movements of workers and peasants. After the failure of the National Revolution (1924-1927), the Communist Party of China (CPC) began to lead the Chinese revolution independently. Ever since then, the revolutionary cause in Anhui region had assumed a new look: a series of armed struggles were organized (the Fuyang April 9th Uprising, the Uprising at the Beginning of Summer, the Lu-Huo Uprising, and the Qingshuizhai Riot), a Red Army of Workers and Peasants built and a revolutionary base established. After the national outbreak of the War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression, the military and civilian forces in Anhui Province resisted the Japanese aggressors with a strong sense of solidarity, patriotism and resolution. The New Fourth Army which was originally assembled in Anhui, was mobilized to fight valiantly in the battlefields and establish the anti-Japanese base area, thus constituting the main armed force against Japanese aggressors in Central China. During the War of Liberation (1945-1949), Anhui became a battlefield vital for the final victory. The People's Liberation Army engaged in fierce battles along the Huai River and the Yangtze River, vowing to fight it out until the final victory. Under the strong leadership of the CPC, the Anhui people finally achieved the victory of the revolution and established the people's power, setting out on the road to socialism. History proves that only the CPC can lead the Chinese revolution to victory. The exhibition，based on the existing precious revolutionary cultural relics in Anhui Province，and by applying historical photographs, revolutionary artistic works, semi-scene paintings, multimedia demonstrations and other auxiliary technological display equipment, shows the revolutionary journey and achievements of the Anhui people in modern times in an all-round way. The fearless, indomitable and selfless dedication spirit of Anhui people is also fully demonstrated in the exhibition.
