Anhui Province sits in the lower altitudeseast of China and can be divided by the Yangtze and Huai Rivers into Huaibei Plain, Jianghuai Hills and mountainous area in the south. Anhui has abundant fossils of ancient lives in well-developed Mesozoic and Cenozoicstratums. The fossil types and geo-chronological distribution in the Province are important for paleontological study.

The exhibition aims to popularize paleontological knowledge, and through fossils of Mesozoic, Cenozoic creatures and ancient human, relics of Paleolithic Culture and related information, demonstrates biological evolution to the public, especially to students.
