The courtesy name of Mei Qing (1623-1697) was Yuangong, and his art name was Qushan. He was skilled in painting landscape, pine trees and rocks, and was especially fond of painting the Yellow Mountain. He could always get the true nature of the mountain.
The album of The Yellow Mountain consists 12 ink-and-color paintings in ancient masters’ styles, which depicts twelve scenic spots of the Yellow Mountain, namely, Tiandu peak, Lotus peak, Mingxian Spring, Bright Top, Cloud Gate peak, Baibu ladder, Alchemy terrace, Cuiwei temple, Lion peak, Fuqiu peak. On every painting there is a poem pointing out its purport.
